Meant to be?

I saw Colette's Laurel when it was released and immediately bought it. I love how simple it is. I also go gaga over the written directions which are fantastic. Holly and I have been looking for a new project, so we called it. Then the contest was announced. Then it became serious! (Do we expect to win? Not so much. But it will make it even more fun!)

I ordered my pattern from Pink Chalk Fabrics. They are generally cheaper with their free shipping, not to mention  super speedy. You know I'm too cheap to cut this pattern, so I went to trace it. The picture above is exactly what I had left on the roll. How crazy is that? Yeah, I had to skip the sleeve, but this is Houston, and we have about 2 weeks of sleeve weather left until we all start dressing like we are washing our cars in the driveway except for all the time and in public. I was going to make it without sleeves anyway! I'm so excited! Now I just need to pack... oh yeah. That. :-(

    1. Well, the packing and moving is not coming along, because I'm messing around sewing instead. :-)Actually we decided to move it back another week so the painters can be all done. I don't think my allergies would let me live in the fumes. It takes a little pressure off to get everything done right now though. With next weekend being a long weekend I think I can get a lot done (and make more Laurels).

    1. It turned out remarkably well. I was worried how it would look on my giant lady beer gut, but it is great!

  3. Ooo can't wait to see yours! I just bought this pattern yesterday. It won't arrive before I head back to camp, but that means I can plot and plan and stalk everyone else who makes it while I'm in camp and then make it up with all my inspiration when I get home. :D

So many good patterns coming out from independent designers! So little time!
